Summer 2026 – loads of fun!

Young Hackney Summer Programme

 

This year’s Summer Programme is now available!

It’s open to:

  • Young people aged 10–19 years (up to 25 years with SEND)

  • Adventure playground users aged 6–15 years (up to 18 years with SEND)

The activities include:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Multi-sports

  • Games sessions

  • Events and special opportunities

💦 Sensory Swimming Disco

An inclusive disco... with a splash!

Dance, socialise and have fun in Britannia Leisure Centre's sensory pool, featuring multi-sensory technology and heated water (approximately 29°C).

Sessions are led by qualified swimming instructor Will, who organises games, dancing and pool-based activities.

Key Information

One Saturday each month

Free for eligible Hackney residents under 18, over 60, or registered disabled with a £1.70 annual Pay As You Go membership.

Please note: A parent or guardian must be in the water with the child or young person.

🛶 Paddleability at Leaside



Paddleability is a welcoming and inclusive paddle sports programme for young people aged 8-25 with:

  • Physical disabilities

  • Neurodivergence

  • Additional support needs

Participants can:

  • Explore the River Lea

  • Develop confidence on the water

  • Build paddle sport skills

  • Take part at their own pace

The programme is designed to be flexible and supportive, recognising that every young person learns and engages differently.

Free family art workshops for children with SEND

 

Led by artists Amy Leung and Immanuel Adelowo, these sessions are suitable for children with disabilities, including those with complex needs, and their siblings.

  • Accessibility

  • Step-free venue

  • Accessible gallery space

  • Friendly staff and volunteers

  • Welcoming for the whole family
